Agent Studio lets an account configure a custom AI agent's role, knowledge base, and allowed actions without writing code. What is worth knowing before building a workflow around it is what the tool does not do yet.
The real limit: advanced custom logic
Inside Agent Studio's own settings panel, a section labeled Advanced Custom Logic, covering custom workflows, conditional logic, and external API integrations, is marked as coming soon and shown disabled. The rest of the configuration, agent name, role, knowledge base sources, conversation handoff rules, is fully live. The advanced logic layer is the part still in development.
What that means in practice
An agent built in Agent Studio today can be given a role, a defined knowledge base, and clear handoff rules, and it performs well within that scope, answering questions, qualifying leads, booking appointments. What it cannot yet do is branch its own behavior based on complex conditional logic or reach out to an external API mid conversation. For that level of customization, the workaround today is pairing the agent with GoHighLevel's Workflow AI or a custom workflow that handles the conditional logic outside the agent itself.
Worth checking GoHighLevel's own roadmap before committing a build to a feature still marked coming soon. What ships today is real and useful, it is just not yet the full extent of what Agent Studio is being built toward.
