The NFPA care standard calls for inspection of turnout gear, both routine and advanced, by trained personnel. Fire department bids require inspection alongside cleaning, and the response has to cover it.
What the requirement means
The care standard distinguishes routine inspection from advanced inspection, the latter a more thorough evaluation of the protective ensemble performed periodically by trained personnel. A bid requiring inspection expects the provider or program to perform it to the standard and document it.
Why it decides the award
A response that cleans but does not provide the inspection the standard requires is incomplete. The agent extracts the inspection requirements, the frequency, and the documentation so a provider or program responds to the full care obligation, not just the cleaning.
How the agent handles it
Our agent reads the inspection terms on each gear solicitation, ties them to the service or program scope, and scores the fit against your gear care service or program capability.
The agent reads the inspection the standard requires alongside the cleaning. See the fire turnout gear bid agent in the interactive demo.
